Illustration

I have an energetic and textural drawing style, using pastels and oil bar worked into roughened board surfaces. I use tthis approach alongside figurative drawing. In terms of composition I try to choose simplicity, with the idea that the fewer the components in an image, the more power they have. I have begun to be interested in hand drawn and painted text.

I have recently completed an MA in Sequential Design and Illustration at the University of Brighton. My First Degree is  a BA (Hons) from Norwich School of Art

Stained Glass

My stained glass work is mainly figure based and I have a lot of fun designing and making them. My inspiration comes from everywhere, from watching people play on the beach, to the pages of high fashion magazines, to flower catalogues. I love the combinations of jewel like colour and texture that you get with stained glass and I enjoy using traditional techniques to make modern objects.

Recently I have been experimenting with a kind of glass collage, using translucent shells, flint chips, glass beads and semi precious stones.
